We have recently been asked to help settle the estate of one of our friends who has been a pillar in the British car scene for many many years. He personally owned over 100 British cars and had four cars that he kept for his personal collection. We are now offering his 1982 Morgan Plus 8 with only 9,500 actual miles for sale.
This extremely low mile, unique, hand-built car was delivered to the United States with its 3.5L aluminum V8 and 5-speed, which originally ran on propane as a way for the Morgan company to import these cars for emission controls. It was owned by a pilot and because of the inconvenience of propane, it was used extremely sparingly.
Our friend purchased the car approximately 10 years ago and drove it for a couple years on propane and then, at a cost of almost $8,000, converted it to a new aluminum fuel cell four-barrel intake and carburetor and put in a new allow radiator. When we received the car, we did a complete front-to-rear brake rebuild, a new set of falcon tires, and have tested and serviced the car, which drives like new.
The car is mostly original paint with cracking because of its age, and a very nice original biscuit leather interior. It also was converted to the earlier, European-style bumpers and sits on a set of factory Morgan alloy wheels. It is truly a time-warp and drives as new. It has its original beige boot cover and beige haartz cloth convertible top. The car looks extremely good but with its light cracking in the paint it is offered at an incredible price of only $35,900. Priced for immediate sale, and unlike waiting two years for Morgan to build one at an exorbitant price, you could be driving this tomorrow.
