1965 Cadillac DeVille

This 1965 Caddy was purchased out of a collection in North Carolina approximately 8 years ago. The car is showing just over 69,000 miles and its paint is mostly original, as well as the matching color leather interior, which is completely original. The seat foam and springs, interior bright work, and dash are all in as-new condition. When we purchased the car, we did an extensive recommissioning, including a complete new hydraulic and mechanical brake rebuild, front to rear, a new radiator, electric cooling fan, a complete rebuild of the air conditioning system (which blows ice cold) with new compressor, drier, and hoses, new convertible top rams and hoses and motor. A new convertible top with all new sweat pads and seals was also installed. Rear air shocks with an onboard compressor, a hidden bluetooth stereo with all-new speakers, and beautiful white/gold new tires. The car has a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, electric seats, original AM/FM radio, power antenna, and six power windows, including the wing windows, an auto-dimming high-beam feature, all of which work perfectly. The cruise control has been finnicky and the link has been disconnected. Everything on the car works as it should and is truly a ready-to-go classic.

Prior to us buying the car, the previous owner treated it as his prized posession. At some point, an extremely low mile 1970 Cadillac which was used as a donor car to upgrade the 425 V8 to a 500 cubic inch V8 producing 400 horsepower and 550 pounds of torque. Also, the original front drum brakes were upgraded to Cadillac's power front disc brakes. While this is a large and very heavy car, the upgraded power plant produces surprisingly quiet and smooth thrust from take-off to highway speeds. The transmission shifts incredibly smoothly, and there are no noises in the driveline whatsoever. The mostly original paint survived because this car was kept inside for most of its life, and after a mild polishing, shines as if it were new. The original chrome is in incredible condition as well. And the door gaps and trim on the body show how original and how well taken care of this car has been its entire life.

After Gassman Automotive bought this car, Mike Gassman, owner, fell in love with it and has used it for the past several years in the summer at Smith Mountain Lake. He commented how nice the car is with six people inside of it, and even took it to a drive-in movie, creating many memories. This car would be extraordinarily expensive to restore, and equally difficult to find a survivor in comparable condition. Offered for the first time for $32,000 with clear title and no stories.
