1968 Triumph TR5

Gassman Automotive restored a 1968 Triumph TR5 in June 2013. This car was only produced for one year, and was the least produced vehicle from the TR series. This particular TR5 has only had one owner since 1970, who has decided to restore it back to original.

January 23, 2013:

The entire engine compartment was repaired, sanded, and prepared for primer. Today, it entered the paint booth and was primed.

December 27, 2012:

The body was taken to the body shop and covered for sandblasting today. The engine compartment will be sandblasted and then prepared for any other body work it may need.

December 10, 2012:

A frame was taken from another TR5, which was garage kept and rust free, then was sand blasted and powder coated. All new hardware was installed that needed to be replaced. It now has a fully adjustable trailing arm for correct rear alignment. A gussett was included in the rear end to prevent common breaking at rear mount. Once the old frame is extracted from the car, the new one will be installed.
