1929 Plymouth Model U Roadster

Mike is restoring this Plymouth for his brother Joe. The Plymouth was owned by their father, Norb Gassman. They have had it in the family since new. The car is being stripped to bare metal for a repaint, the mechanics and electrics will be rebuilt or replaced as necessary, and this car will be road worthy for many years to come once completed.

Please scroll down for photos of the restoration.

September 15, 2016:

Restoration of the Plymouth has been completed. Tom VanNortwick came last week and pinstriped the entire vehicle by hand, really setting off the restoration and bringing back many memories for Mike and his siblings. The car is going to be used this weekend in Mike’s daughter’s wedding to drive her to the aisle, which is really amazing for the entire Gassman family. This has been a truly special restoration project, and will be enjoyed for many years to come.

Metal work has begun on the body of the car. As you can see from the photos, the fenders have already had the metal/body work completed and have been painted as well. The rest of the body/frame still needs to be repaired.

October 28, 2015:

The metal has been stripped, the interior and body panels have been removed. Once all of the parts above the frame were removed, with the exception of the engine, the frame was power washed for a clean start.
